For this album, we set up in London’s renowned The Pool Studio, where the high ceilings and signature concrete floor created a naturally powerful, roomy drum sound. We recorded using the studio’s vintage 1970s Slingerland kit with a Radioking snare, all mic’ed up with The Pool’s exceptional esoteric mic collection. The entire session ran through their vintage Neve console to capture that authentic, analog warmth.

To push the distortion further, overheads were crunched with a Thermionic Culture Vulture, while the mono room mic was smashed through the studio’s vintage Gates compressor, adding even more grit and character. Behind the drums was the incredible James Pinfield-Wells, with engineering and production led by Jim & Rob Homes from Empire Sound.
