Harvey Coates, a guitarist and music producer from Bristol, has an extensive background in creating summer-ready house music. His early work focused on house music, and his 2020 EP, Beachside Bops, showcases his signature style. Over time, Harvey’s sound evolved, incorporating a variety of musical influences, particularly folk guitar music, which he became adept at producing for his university dissertation project. This folk influence can be heard prominently throughout the Songs in a Bottle sample pack.

James Richardson, a keys player and music producer from Oxfordshire, initially found success in lofi hip-hop, releasing tracks under the alias “Lasoa” and accumulating over 150,000 streams. At university, James took on the role of lead producer for the band Shtëpi, inviting Harvey to join the band as the guitarist for live performances. James’s production techniques are heavily present in the creation of Songs in a Bottle, with his ambient electronic work, showcased in his recent EP Between Focus, guiding much of the pack’s development.
