Description
Rhythm Paints presents “The Gambia Sessions: Sabar Drum Language,” a unique sample pack featuring ancient drumming performances from Senegal and The Gambia. This collection showcases the expertise of Laye Ndiaye, a seasoned Sabar player whose family has preserved this tradition for generations. Laye offers insights into the Mbalax, a hand and stick drum, and the Thiol, a slender goblet drum played with one hand and stick. These rhythms have been integral to his family’s musical heritage for centuries.
